Although there are two routes to reach Leh Ladakh. First way is Srinagar to Leh Ladakh and second is Manali to Leh Ladakh. The route via Manali to Leh Ladakh is popular among bikers. Manali- Leh highway could be tricky to plan as well as it is one of the adventurous roads in India. This route offers a magnificent view of the Himalayas and valley.

Best Time To Go Manali To Leh Ladakh

Usually, the Rohtang Pass opens in the month of June every year hence, the best month for Manali to Leh bike trip is from June to September. If you wish to go  In the month of July-August. you will need to cross the Rohtang pass which is in Manali and lower hills so it’s almost good to go without much trouble.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Manali 

After reaching Manali you will have a group briefing with your team bikers. You have to check-in at any hotel in Manali. On this day you need acclimatisation as you will start your journey to the Himalayas from tomorrow. On this day you may explore the Manali but it is advised to not exert too much. On this day you may visit the Hadimba temple and the local market in Manali. Old Manali is also worth exploring.

Day 2: Manali to Jispa

Manali to Jisapa is 138 km. It takes 9 hours to reach Jispa. On this day you will start your day by having breakfast to be on the ground of heaven on earth. As you pass towards the Jispa you will encounter the beautiful landscapes of Baralacha-La, Moore, and Upshi. 

You will move ahead to Keylong and Sissu. This is the place where natural beauty remains untouched. Here you can explore the Sissu waterfall and lake. After this valley, you can explore the Lush green Bhaga valley and you will head to Jispa. After reaching Jispa you will be amazed with fascinating trails and green jungles. Just stay in Camp overnight

Day 3: Jispa to Sarchu

On the 3rd day, you will head to Sarchi via Baralacha -la after having breakfast. So it’s recommended to wake up early and route towards this journey.

Enroute, you can visit Deepak Tal. This Tal acts as the mirror which reflects the surroundings of snow-capped peaks.

The next stop will be Zingzing Bar and then Suraj Tal, booth Tal has literally translated to the lake of sun God and seems like a green emerald. Your next stop will be at 16000 ft at Baralacha La and reach Sarchu in the afternoon.

Day 4: Sarchu to Leh

After having your breakfast you will start your journey towards Leh. you will enjoy a ride through Gata Loops which leads to the top of the Ladakh region Nakee la pass. 

Your next stop will be Lachung la pass, this is another mountain pass in the region. You can take a halt here and take photos. Here the large stretch of green land is boarded by Himalayan on all sides.

Day 5: Leh to Nubra Valley

On this day, After having a healthy breakfast, get ready for the ultimate adventure. This journey will take you towards the Nubra Valley. After reaching the Khardung La pass, you will feel like on top of the world.

As you descend from Khardung-la, you will experience the change in landscape from barren and cold desert to white and desert. This will happen when you will start to enter the Nubra Valley.

Day  6: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake 

On this day get ready to visit Lake on the Indo-China border. Wake up in the morning to the lake view. You may further visit school famed for the movie 3 idiots where the last scene was shot. Once you visit This and Shei palace you can move back to and then Manali, and back to Home by collecting a bag full of a lifetime memory.
